it may be out of topic , but I have interview about PhD project

I want to work in Cancer gene correction but I have certain unknowing question for me which is:

• is it expensive to do cancer gene correction
• any new ideas in this field
• any places already applied it in wide range
• can I associate it with cancer detection (as research)

Again it may be out topic from here but please help me in it
