Forum: Bioinformatics Career As A Work-At-Home Job

Hello,

I have completed M.Sc. Bioinformatics and I am from small town of Gujarat, India. There is no scope for bioinformatics and I want to do a job or projects in bioinformatics from home. Is it possible? and If yes than what should I do for that? hope anybody can help me.

At present I am doing a job in small biotech company from last 3 years but now I want to move and want to do job or projects from my home. Please help me.

There are quite a few individuals that are successful in working in bioinformatics from a remote location (the team working on GBrowse used to be and perhaps still are mostly working from home), but probably you can't easily find this type of work at entry level or as a relatively unexperienced individual.

The easiest way to get started would be to transition your existing job into one that does not require a permanent presence, or to establish credentials that instill sufficient trust in your capabilities.
