extract mitochondrial genes
I resequenced the whole genome of bird blood samples, and the sequencing depth was 10 ×. Now I need to extract mitochondrial genes from the whole genome, and try to extract mitochondria from BWA mem and mitobim software. The results are very poor. I don't know whether it is because 10 × is not deep enough for blood samples? There are a lot of gap. Do I have to deepen the sequencing depth, or can I find out whether my data can extract mitochondrial genes?
