What is isogenic replicate in ENCODE project

Hello,

I have a quick question about "isogenic replicate" in ENCODE project.
In my best knowledge, the term "isogenic replicate" means genetically modified sample compared to that of control.
However, in ENCODE project, the term does not mean what I think because they do not mention "what kind of modification they use" (but I'm not sure...).
Anyone knows about the term? If then, please post it!

Isogenic replication – Biological replication. Two replicates from biosamples derived from the same human donor or model organism strain. These biosamples have been treated separately (i.e. two growths, two separate knockdowns, or two different excisions).

I misunderstood the meaning of "two growths" when I saw ENCODE term page.
