STRING does not support networks larger than 2000 nodes.

Hi,

A beginner question, I upload a file containing DEG to STRING-db. An error pops up as :

"We do not support networks larger than 2000 nodes. Please go back and reduce the number of proteins that you provide as input and specify the input organism. "

I need to keep the number of DEG unchanged. (2217 genes)

Please help me !

Hi First the select the organism and try it. Further, the Interpretation of such dense network is biologically significant?, My suggestion increases the cut-off value of logFC and try again.

Have you tried using StringApp in Cytoscape. That should work.

No, I have not, You mean for number of proteins more than 2000 we always need to use apps or package ?

Yes. Web servers do not have infinite resources so data upload is often limited to a certain size. Large data sets are best handled locally.
