IMPACT rating in VEP and compatibility with which tools?

Hi,

VEP claim :The IMPACT rating is a separate rating given for compatibility with other variant annotation tools (e.g. snpEff). Who knows more details about this IMPACT rating?

Hi Shicheng Guo,

The IMPACT descriptions correspond to Sequence Ontology terms which describe predicted variant consequences. The table in the following documentation lists all SO terms and the corresponding IMPACT rating used in Ensembl: http://www.ensembl.org/info/genome/variation/prediction/predicted_data.html
