i constructed a phylogenetic tree of pathogenic bacteria and i found that gram positive and gram negative bacteria are monophyletic with each other...may any one can tell me that why is this happen..
Without much more information about how you constructed your tree, what data its based on etc.; no, we can't.
Does it seem plausible to you that that would be a real trend based on your data?
sorry sir...i m repeating my question... I have taken 40 pathogenic bacteria including both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. I used MEGA to construct the phylogenetic tree, I used following parameters such as maximum likelihood method, LG model and number of bootstrap replications (100). after generating the tree, I found that gram positive and gram negative bacteria are monophyletic with each other. I want to know that is it possible to come to that relation..if yes ..then why?
Please edit your post with that information, but we still need more. We don't know what sequences your tree are based on for example?
If you are doing it on, for instance, insertion elements, its small wonder your tree is questionable.
Please also provide an image/link to an image of your data.
