Hi,
How to create publication quality figures by using the outputs from Ligplus and DS visualizer?
Journal Requirements
Width = 8.5 inches (In-between the required size) Height = 11 inches (In-between the required size) Pixels/Inches = 300 (minimum dpi) All figures should be in vector scale (except half tone, photograph.)
I couldn't convert the figures in vector scale. Could you please provide step-by-step instructions for that?
standard PDF is vector scaled, width and height are standard US letter size, 300 dpi are fairly standard, too. Are you sure your software can't cope with this?
I never used Ligplus or DS visualizer, but if the outputs are bitmaps, like PNG or JPEG, you will have a hard time trying to get a vector graphics from that. Bitmaps are composed of pixels and vector graphics are points coordinates with lines and curves described as mathematical formulas.
Inkscape has a tool to vectorize bitmap, but it's not a silver bullet and I doubt it will help you convert your figure. See a tutorial here, which also nicely explain the problem to convert one to another: https://logosbynick.com/inkscape-convert-png-to-svg/
Check if you can export your results in svg from the software you use, or if other software with the same purpose offers such export...
