How to predict when a duplication occur in my virus sequence

I have a fasta sequences of RSV a single negative sense vírus. It suffer a duplication in its genome. I want to know if there some tool that I can predict how this duplication occurs (if it happens in parts,or quiqly bacause this is a large duplication and could take so many years to occur. ,there some tool I can do that?
