bigWigToWig operation fail

Hi all! I'm trying to use bigWigToWig tool, from UCSC, but I receive this error:

udc couldn't read 4 bytes from wgEncodeCrgMapabilityAlign75mer.bigWig, did read 0

My file is wgEncodeCrgMapabilityAlign75mer.bigWig and it's a 95Mb file. The permission of the bigWigToWig script is -rwxr-xr-x and I type the command:

./bigWigToWig wgEncodeCrgMapabilityAlign75mer.bigWig wgEncodeCrgMapabilityAlign75mer.wig

How can I resolve?

Are you sure the file you have is in bigWig format? Searching seems to indicate that the error you see is generated when the format of the file is not correct.

I think that you were right! I trusted the software's documentation. I download another wgEncodeCrgMapabilityAlign75mer.bigWig and it seems to work. Thank you for your help!

Hi Marty,

We are using the rapidr package and we were not able to find the mask file that should theoretically be included in the package. We read that you've been trying to get the file also and you faced the same problem than us so we would like to know if you find any solution. Thanks!
