Project for Master student

Hi all. I am a Master student and I will be attending a Master's degree in Computational Biology.

While studying, I wanted to work as a student research assistant at the university on a (real) research project. Unfortunately, I think this will not be possible. So, I am looking for something similar but online. I explain: do you know of any online resource where I can find (real) projects on computational biology I can work on? By "real" I mean something related to a bigger research project, I am not just looking for a "big assignment".

I know this is very general and I do not provide a lot of details, but I myself cannot explain it better! Any suggestion is very much appreciated.
