Meaning of "maker-scaffold_10129|ref0033471-snap-gene-0.13"

I'm new in RNA-seq field. Can anyone explain to me what the transcript id of "maker-scaffold_10129|ref0033471-snap-gene-0.13" might imply?

This might tell you several things:

  • Gene prediction was run using the Maker(2) pipeline
  • This transcript is possibly located on scaffold_10129
  • The gene model to which this transcript belongs was predicted by the program Snap inside Maker, other programs that could appear are e.g. Augustus
  • It is not an official ID that means you will most likely not be able to use it without the original assembly and Maker output
  • You cannot look it up in public sequence databases.
