How to know if a genome is curated?

Dear all

I am going to work with E. coli k-12 sub-strain mg1655. In the PATRIC website I found more than 10 genomes available.

How can I know what is the best curated genome? and which is the most used?

Thanks

Carlos

It may be best to get the genome from NCBI or Ensembl. Annotations for E. coli genome should be stable by now.

It might be best to download all versions, map to them, call variants, and pick the one with the fewest variants compared to your samples. It kind of depends on what you're trying to do, and what kind of data you have...
