NGS RNA-seq data for gene expression

Do I need to take control and disease sample SRA data for studying viral-host interaction and gene expression of non-model virus? if yes how much of the both samples are to be considered to study. I am new to NGS and research, so please guide me.

rna-seq

Are you asking about biological replicate? as I see you are using SRA so actually you are controlled by the experiment design of the one who published the data.

So in general if you are asking about biologcal replicate you need at least 3 and yes you need both (healthy and diseased )to compare the effect between healthy and diseased one

  1. Yes, you'll need both types of samples.
  2. More is always better. Try to avoid creating a batch effect, of course.
