I would like to know how to analyze each of the genes in a dataset, looking for a positive or negative linear correlation of that gene with the SALL4 gene expression, such that the slope m of the line is between +3 to +10 and between -3 to -10.
This would compare the linear positive relationship between the SALL4 genes among the 154 samples, with each of the remaining the genes in the dataset (about 22000).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is this an assignment question? "Deliverables" are rather specific.
There is a mismatch between the requirements for the slope in the title and the text. In addition, if you explain (show code) of what you tried, people will be more eager to help you correct your mistakes.

This looks like an assignment question. Please convince us otherwise - give us details on how you arrived at the assumptions/numbers you state in your post. Also, please give us more details on what you've tried so far.
