Forum: Is it possible to change a username?

Hello,

Due to some private reasons, I need to change my username on Biostars. Is it possible?

If you find your old username in posts elsewhere here and that's a problem then just post links and I can edit it out.

Edit your profile and change the "name" field.

Proper way to do this is to "tag" a user on that thread. You do it by clicking on the user's biostar name, that should get you to a page with the user's profile. Copy the URL you see in the address bar and then paste it into the thread and you are done.

Note: Have already done it for you this time.

Since "follow by email" feature on Biostars does not work it is likely that this will only be useful with users/mods who regularly check Biostars. Just so you are aware.

Thanks, genomax2. Now I learnt it how to tag a person. For testing purpose, I tried with your name and delete it now.

Click your profile name -> Edit your profile -> "Change the field in" Name
