What are some non-Bioinformatics jobs one can easily get/apply for with a degree in Bioinformatics? I have heard from some people that jobs that require statisticians and data analysts (even in the economic market) usually do not have problems with taking in Bioinformaticians. How true is this? And what other jobs are out there for Bioinformaticians?

It just depends on where you are good at! Don't worry too much, if you are good at something, you'll get a job. As people already mentioned, Bioinformatics is a huge field. If you are a good programmer, you can go for a software engineering job. If you are great with maths and statistics, sure you'll find a job in the fields you mentioned. If you are good at ..... .... seriously, it just depends on your skills. Bioinformatics can be very close to the wet lab and pretty far away from it as well. People worry too much, just do what you enjoy and be good at it and you'll be fine.

I have to say there has been an increasing number of data-visualisation jobs too apart from data-analysts. Statisticians are always in demand and programmers, well you know it already ;)

If you like teaching/interacting with people then being a "product application specialist" or "field application scientist (FAS)" could be an option. In addition to the training/support aspect you may also be expected to tag along with "sales" team trying to convince a prospective client to purchase a product/software.

If you become good at this you may be able to move into sales where the real money is (possibly) at.

Sales? The whole reason most of us decided to do programming and analytics for livelihood is so we can make a living while interacting with as few people as possible.

As long as you are speaking for yourself :) I doubt everyone doing programming/analytics took it up for the that reason.

Change is the only thing that is constant.
