i am writing my proposal for which i am interested in prediction of genetically inherited disease. i want to know
- which algorithm will be best for this 2.from where i will get data (training sample data) as i do not have bioinformatics background, i am computer science major.

like if one of the parents have thalassaemia i want to predict what are chances for having thalassaemia in children
Then the data you need is a large number of family histories (or to mine pubmed, since it's quite likely that others have directly calculated this for many many many many many disorders.
