Forum: Need suggestion / roadmaps for bio informatics as a Computer science student
Hi everyone, I am a 4th-year Computer Science student looking to enter bioinformatics. I have a strong background in algorithms, data structures, and Python, but zero formal background in biology.
I am looking for a roadmap that focuses on the engineering, algorithmic, and computational challenges of the field ) rather than deep molecular biology theory. What open-source resources or papers or roadmap would you recommend for a CS major to get up to speed up?

If you are serious about continuing with bioinformatics then you should consider enrolling in a graduate program with a computational biology/bioinformatics focus. At least start talking with someone who works in one of these areas to get ideas.
Biostars has a number of contributors who would fall in the category above and you will likely get additional answers/comments soon.
