when I run targetp, I am getting the core dumped error.

apparent state: unit 3 named HOWLIN_in last format: list io lately reading sequential formatted external IO Aborted (core dumped)

I use an ubuntu 12.04 system. I am apparently able to run targetp on smaller files but fasta files with many sequences give this error. Please advice

I guess this is a memory size issue, please specify how much RAM you have and filesizes of the files that work and do not work. If the problem cannot be solved you could simply split the fasta file into smaller chunks. You could also contact the technical support at CBS/DTU http://www.cbs.dtu.dk/services/TargetP/

RAM size is 2 GB and the file size size that do not work is 1.6 MB .
