Good Bioinformatics research papers

What are some good bioinformatics research papers published within last 5 years, and having at least 8 pages? Better if they are on NGS technologies. Almost all the bioinformatics research papers I went through have no "Related Work" section. Why is that?

What do you mean by a good paper? Bioinformatics is a rather broad field and it would help to know what you're particularly interested in.

"Related work" would be the citations. I've never seen a paper in any biological field with a section called "related work".

What is the reason for bioinformatics papers to not have a separate section for "Related Work"? What I meant by a good paper is a paper published in a recognized journal, having a considerable number of citations and having at least 8 pages. I need this to present in the class.

In papers in biological journals, related work can be mentioned in the introduction (to provide context) and discussed in the discussion section. The details of these related works are left to the reader to look up in the references.

There is a post on review papers compiled here on Biostars. Review papers generally have many pages and lots of citations so that should be sufficient for your class assignment. You asked for more of NGS technologies so this post is on sequencing technology review papers. Good luck.
