adding a directory of tool to path linux
I have two very naive question I have a bunch of tools in software directory which I want add to my path.
So how can I do that?
I want to add to my path software directory - /export/XXX/YYY/shared/production/software. My working directory is /auto/rcf-40/ZZZ
Secondly by adding main directory will it allow me to use all the softwares in that directory or I have to add each tool (e.g samtools is @ /export/XXX/YYY/shared/production/software/samtools/samtools-1.0)

Why I believe it is I am asking for a command?
