Hi,
I have a question about the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. what is the size of it?
The thickness of the endoplasmic reticulum was measured in one context (rat hepatocytes) to be 37.5 angstroms.

"Size" is a bit ambiguous, so if you are not looking for the membrane thickness, and rather some other length dimension or another measure such as density or volume, please rephrase.

My question is a biological question, right. But the question is related for a bioinformatics contest. Why? because there are many bioinformatics software i.e., gromacs, VDM that give the possibility to construct the membrane to reproduce the contest of transmembrane proteins. I had the necessity to know if anyone can help me. but yes this is a biological question and I'm sorry.

Normally, it would be sufficient if the connection to bioinformatics or computational biology is made evident, but this should happen in the original post and is the responsibility of the OP to show, meaning we shouldn't have to guess. If the intention of asking a pure biology question is to confirm a comp. biology prediction or to set parameters in a modelling tool accordingly, be my guest. However that would still be borderline, wouldn't it? Requesting comments.
