Why numInCat are different from the number of GOs present in the list it is calculated from?

Hi,

I have a bit of complicated situation here that I try to explain best. I am doing goseq on my list of DEGs and my organism is S. pombe. I prepare the list of GO-terms for gene2cat arguement from this list. What I get in result has this column numInCat which I think are the total number of genes that share the same GO in my list. However for some genes I had to go through the list and to my surprise I found that some of them occur more than what I got in numInCat, e.g., GO:0009228 that in my results it has a numInCat of 6 but it occurs 8 times in my list. Is there any explanation for that? Please let me know if I am not clear.

Here is a screenshot of my goseq results.

Thanks

go numincat
