why sysID2product list for S. pombe is 2000 gene less than allnames list?

Hi,

I have a list of GeneIDs that I would like to know their function, my organism is S. pombe. So I go to pombase and get the sysID2productlist, but surprisingly it has about 5200 genes listed out of 7020 in allnameslist. Does anybody know the reason behind it? Are them genes with no discovered function or something?

Thanks a lot!

I doubt that you are still eagerly awaiting an answer after more than 3 years :)

but the answer seems to be that sysID2product contains only the known protein-coding genes (as stated here), whereas allNames as the name indicates contains all genes: protein-coding, non-coding RNA and pseudogenes.
