The School of Plant Biology conducts research on plants in Plant Production Systems, Natural Terrestrial Systems and Marine Systems, and is the primary plant science teaching and research school at UWA. We have a budget of nearly 16 million dollars, 120 postgraduate students and 90 staff members, including highly cited researchers.

As an integral member of our research team you will undertake research in the area of computational genomics, develop and implement methods to analyse genetic and genomic data for complex plant genomes using data generated from next generation sequencing technology.

To be successful in this position, you will have the skills to analyse next generation sequencing data, undertake innovative research in the area of genome sequencing, undertake the analysis of genetic and genomic data, support ongoing bioinformatics developments for genome analysis, support the production of high quality, peer reviewed publications, support the training and development of staff and students within team.
