Position Description

As a Systems Developer, you will help design, build, implement and integrate new technology. Whether battling large system databases or improving our homegrown workflows, you will help us achieve a smooth-flowing efficiency. You will determine application designs and feature requirements to effectively scale the business, while working in a highly collaborative environment with cross-functional teams such as Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Finance, and Marketing. You will write and troubleshoot code, incorporate and test new tools, and diagnose root causes of technical issues while not losing sight of the "Big Picture." You must be energized by applying your technical expertise to solving real-world challenges and by swiftly implementing solutions in creative ways.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop integration solutions for various science systems and technical infrastructures.
• Design and develop automation solutions for complex (often manual) business processes.
• Design, develop and maintain web apps to analyze, monitor and visualize key performance metrics.

Requirements

• BS in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of software development experience, preferably at the enterprise level
• Experience programming in Python, working in a Linux environment, and knowledge of relational database structure and data management.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sense of humor

Preferred

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (Amazon Simple Workflow Service and CloudFormation is a big plus)
• Experience with Django and NoSQL databases
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment.

Location

This position will be located in the New York or Boston Area
