My client has developed award winning products, and currently working on some exciting new projects within the health sector.

What do we want?

We are looking for a motivated, technically capable and delivery-focused NLP (Natural Language Processing) specialist to lead a team of NLP specialists, speech engineers and dialogue specialists in the development of our market-leading products. Reporting to the Head of Artificial Intelligence, you will be part of a collaborative and growing product team based in their offices in central London.

You will be working with highly skilled data science, engineer and product teams to release great products. Your skills will be put to good use on deep problems in NLP across our product line, where my client are building complex systems to meet our core goal of making health care easier for everyone to access.

  • Expertise in information extraction is important for advising on, designing, and leading implementation of solutions for their NLP work; working knowledge of other major NLP subfields (e.g. speech recognition) is beneficial as well.
  • Demonstrated NLP experience and knowledge of major NLP tools, especially in information extraction (e.g. GATE/Stanford NLP, or custom solutions built on industry-leading tools such as NLTK).
  • The ability to build and lead a team of NLP personnel in a collaborative scientific and engineering environment.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one major language (Java and/or Python preferred).
  • A proven track record of delivering high profile, user-oriented solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate deeply technical concepts to non-technical audiences, at all levels and in all mediums from email to written and oral presentations.
  • Great organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a demanding environment whilst juggling multiple priorities.
  • A highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude, even in the face of demanding deadlines. What’s nice to have?
  • Experience delivering in a microservices architecture.
  • Healthcare domain experience.
  • Experience with semantic technology (e.g. RDF and triplestores) is useful. Super smart requirements
  • PhD in a quantitative discipline, preferably computer science with an NLP focus, computational linguistics, or equivalent with NLP experience.
