Can a protein precipitate from a column based RNA isolation assay be used for downstream protein analysis?
I was wondering if somebody could provide me with some helpful information. I recently extracted RNA out of some purified exosomes using the miRCURY RNA isolation kit for biofluids. This is a column based RNA isolation assay, which involves a protein precipitation step. I was wondering, can this protein precipitate be used for downstream protein analysis? If so, what would be the best way to process the protein precipitate? I would appreciate any input! Thanks, Jake

This isn't actually a bioinformatics question. Having said that, the odds are good that if you wash the precipitate with ethanol and resolublize in buffer that it'll work.
