Hello!

I'm not a biologist, but a software guy. My girlfriend researches cyanobacteria, and I noticed how laborious it was to find ITS motifs manually. We reached out to some experts in the field, and found out they were also doing this manually... in MS Word!.

To help the community, we got together and created CIMS, a Cyanobacterial ITS Motif Slicer. At first we released it as a terminal tool which you can find on GitHub. But we've also put together a web app that will return the sliced motifs in fasta files.

You may access CIMS through: https://phylo.dev.

Why not cims.dev? CIMS is the first of a set of phylogeny related tools we're working on releasing on the site!.
