News: I wrote a beginner-friendly book on AI in Biology, would love this community's thoughts

I've been working on a book aimed at biology students and researchers who want to understand how AI is being applied in the field- genomics, drug discovery, protein folding, etc.- without needing a deep CS background.

Just published it on Amazon: AI in Biology

Your samples are too short. I read a few entries, but some of the samples show half pages with very little content.

Most importantly, the samples seem to address old, historical elements from 2003, 2006, etc. there is nothing in the samples about AI

Thank you for the feedback! The samples are Amazon's choice unfortunately, not mine. The book is actually a story of how the field evolved, the early chapters set the context, but it builds all the way up to AlphaFold, genomic language models, and modern AI applications. The history is there to explain why AI became inevitable in biology.

Congratulations on publishing the book! One thing I appreciate about resources like this is that they help bridge the gap between biology and AI without assuming readers are already machine learning experts. Many researchers understand the biological questions they're trying to answer but struggle with the computational side. Explaining concepts through real-world applications like protein structure prediction, genomics, or drug discovery can make AI feel much more approachable. It would also be interesting to see how you address practical topics such as data quality, model limitations, and interpreting AI-generated results, since those are becoming increasingly important in research. I will make this clear on the page - no content was ever written by AI. As you shall see, many of the opinions I hold go against "standard" wisdom...

For reference book was first published 10 years ago ... since then it went through massive numbers of iterations.

Recently I've been using AI to spellcheck, proofread, and correct the wording

It is alright; however, this isn't a textbook or a technical guide. It's my perspective on the convergence of AI and biology, shaped by what I learned during my PhD research. Coming from a computer science background, I wanted to share the journey that led me to appreciate the remarkable advances happening in biology and how AI is accelerating them.

The content was written entirely by me. I only used AI for proofreading, grammar, and improving the wording.

I would really appreciate your feedback on the book.
