News: Spring School in Bioinformatics - ONLINE, 8-12 JUNE

Dear all,

Is bioinformatics still a black box to you?

We are pleased to announce the Spring School in Bioinformatics (9th Edition), a fully online, intensive training course taking place 8–12 June. This course is designed for researchers who want to build a solid foundation in bioinformatics and gain practical skills for analysing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data.

Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course68/

Over five days, participants will engage in hands-on sessions covering key topics, including:

  • Linux command line and Docker for reproducible bioinformatics workflows
  • Quality control and preprocessing of sequencing data

  • Genome assembly and annotation using short-read (Illumina) and long-read technologies (Oxford Nanopore Technologies and PacBio)

  • RNA-seq analysis and differential gene expression

  • Phylogenomics and evolutionary data analysis

The course combines lectures with practical exercises and is suitable for beginners or researchers seeking a structured overview of modern bioinformatics approaches.
