ODC1, from United States. Surprisingly, I switched browsers and now it works! Google Chrome works better it seems. Thanks for the info though!
I have been trying since early December to access Ensembl to get sequence of a gene in the mouse database. It either shows me server error, 504 gateway time out or doesn't yield any search results. Is anyone facing similar issue? Does anyone know why it is happening? I am accessing the east Ensembl mirror btw.

Hi all,
My sincere apologies for the issues you are experiencing with Ensembl. We are aware of the site's performance problems, which unfortunately have become more common as the codebase ages, datasets grow and our resources shift increasingly towards developing the new Ensembl site beta.ensembl.org. While we're working to mitigate the timeouts on the US East and Asia mirrors, you can try accessing the main site at https://ensembl.org?redirect=no as GenoMax mentioned, or you can access one of the archive sites at https://www.ensembl.org/info/website/archives. We also welcome you to try out the new Ensembl at https://beta.ensembl.org, if its currently limited functionality fits your needs. Thank you for your understanding.
All the best,
Louisse (on behalf of the Ensembl team)
It appears that the Ensembl Mirrors in US East (https://useast.ensembl.org/index.html ) and Asia (https://asia.ensembl.org/index.html ) are both not working. So it takes some time before you get vectored back to the main Ensembl site. Hopefully this is a temporary thing and will be resolved in time.
Ensembl will send you over to the closest mirror site based on where you are trying to access the site from. You can always force Ensembl to go to the main site by using: https://www.ensembl.org/index.html?redirect=no
For me from US right now, Ensembl is down: https://www.ensembl.org/
Did you try switching to Chrome, it worked for me when I did. Idk if it was a fluke or truly a browser issue.
Strange. This site considers it down for everyone. https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ensembl.org.html
But it does work using Chrome for me too.

Any help so far? I am experiencing the same issue and based in the UK.
Hi, sorry for the ongoing issues. We are facing immense traffic loads which leads to gateway errors. I've tested now and https://www.ensembl.org/index.html is working for me. Are you trying to access another Ensembl site or archive?
Ensembl Outreach : While this may be automatically addressed by tomorrow, FYI: SSL cert on US East mirror has expired.
Thank you - the renewal is in progress and the certificates should be up soon. Asia mirror is also affected by this now. Users can workaround by connecting to main site with https://ensembl.org?redirect=no
