News: Phylogenetic Comparative Methods in R (12–16 May, Online) - only 2 seats left

Dear Biostars community,

We would like to inform you that a limited number of seats remain for our upcoming online course: Phylogenetic Comparative Methods in R

Dates: 12–16 May

Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/course44/

This intensive course is designed for researchers, graduate students, and professionals interested in generating or analyzing ultrametric phylogenies ("chronograms" or "timetrees") and applying comparative methods to study trait evolution and lineage diversification. Participants will engage in both theoretical lectures and hands-on tutorials using R.

Key topics include:

  • Bayesian time calibration using BEAST

  • Trait evolution models (e.g., Brownian Motion, OU)

  • Ancestral state reconstruction

  • Diversification analyses and historical biogeography

A working knowledge of molecular evolution and basic familiarity with R are recommended.
