ATAC-seq +4 -5 shift in single-end setting before motif analysis
Hi,
The +4 -5 shift is recommended to be done especially when the aim is to focus on motifs footprint (e.g. discussed here and here ). Does the necessity persist in case of single-end atac-seq data? Like do I need to shift the start position +4 for reads aligned to positive strand and shift -5 for reads aligned to negative strand?
Thanks!
P.S. I understand single-end atac-seq is not a desirable setting but this is what I have.
