Mixomics spls function clarification

Hi everyone,

I am following the mixOmics tutorial on the spls function, and I don't quite understand the keepX option. From what I understand, it determines the number of variables in a component that I want to include in the analysis, such as considering only the 20 genes that have the most impact on the observed differences. Is that correct? And if it is, why would I need to not consider all of my data?
