I was wondering what the bars going across with a high signal are at the top and why it's spanning the entirety of the -10000 to 10000 region with such deep red color.
Hello, I am new to chipseq and generated a profile plot during my diffbind analysis. I was hoping someone could help me understand what the bars straight across mean as profile plots online seem to have various signals around for a site instead of a bar across like here. Thanks.

do you mean the bar in the center? it is the signal in the center of the peak. But your data looks strange, usually you see much higher peak in the center.
it seems the background is high and your signal is weak.
As Ming Tommy Tang points out, there is a continuous signal (high read concentrations with no difference between background and binding sites), however this is only for a small subset of sites. This subset is skewing the scales so the signal in the remaining sites appears faint. See your other posting (Profile Plot looks strange) for ideas of how to get to the bottom of this.
