colour background on lables from EnhancedVolcano in R

Hi, I would like to illustrate two different pathways in my volcanoplot.

in the vingette(https://bioconductor.org/packages/devel/bioc/vignettes/EnhancedVolcano/inst/doc/EnhancedVolcano.html#custom-axis-tick-mark) they show the following plot:

I would like to add acoloured background or changes the colour of the text to half of the genes, like this:

I have tried with a vector in labcol, but a vector is not allowed.

I hope some one can help here

Hey, I mainly developed this package. There is currently no support to do this - my apologies. I am unsure of how much development time that I may have in the near future, too.

I hope it will be possible at some point but fair enough it is not an option now.
