Unknown naming convention for genes

Hello,

I have a list of genes beginning with prefix ACXXXXXX (for example: AC000032.1, AC000035.), ALXXXXXX (ex. AL008582.1, AL008628.1), and APXXXXXX (ex. AP000223.1, AP000238.1), but I am unfamiliar with their naming convention. I cannot find any information about these genes from HGNC symbol checker (https://www.genenames.org/tools/multi-symbol-checker/). Does anyone have any information regarding what these genes are?

Thank you!

They are not gene names. They are NCBI GenBank accessions. For example, see https://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/AC000032.1 for AC000032.1.

More information about NCBI accession prefixes can be found here and here

Thank you so much! This is very helpful.
