soapdenovo2 installation

I downloaded the soapdenovo2 zip folder and extracted it to get the SOAPdenovo2-master folder. I then changed the present working directory to this folder and typed the make command. For sometime it seems to run, after which, the following error shows up:

/usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: bad value
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [Makefile:54: SOAPdenovo-63mer] Error 1

Can someone please help with this? Thank you!

Use a package manager such as conda - it will relieve you of these make and config errors.
