phylogeny

Hi,

I have whole genome sequences of 30 E.coli isolates. I want to build phylogeny of these isolates based in their virulence genes.

Is it possible to do this or am i just imagining something absurd?

if it is possible, can someone guide me with the tools name and the pathway?

Thank you.

phylogeny genes with virulence

Why shouldn't this be possible?

Extract the sequences from the gene(s) of interest, and then infer the relationships from genetic variation. See e.g. tskit for comprehensive tutorials and tools.

Thank you for your reply.

I was thinking about all the virulence genes in a scene, not individual. so I need to extract all the virulence genes sequences from all the isolates and build phylogeny? right?

Thank you
