I was curious how good is the performance of reconstruction of immune repertoire from bulk RNA-seq data compared to library preparations with multiplex PCR, targeted enrichment, and 5'RACE + switched oligo + nested PCR?

This paper was the most recent and comprehensive assessment of multiple methods that I can find. Including a comparison of multiple PCR and RACE-based approaches. It also has the advantage of multiple replicates, so you can really evaluate the reproducibility of the approaches. I think the non-UMI RACE-based approaches (RACE-3 and RACE-5) had high sensitivity and better reproducibility.
