Hello everyone, I am scanning AMR genes in some genomes for a project. I know there should be a balance between coverage and identity, the higher for both the more homologous the sequences, but I would like to know if I should pay more attention to one of the two. My theory is that since I am searching for AMR genes, having the whole sequence (high coverage) is more important than having some residues that donĀ“t match (low identity), as probably these "mutations" could even promote resistance in some cases. I appreciate any ideas on this topic.
