I would like to classify TIM barrel proteins into different classes based on certain properties.
Could anyone please tell me, how to go green with the classification of proteins? And what are the important properties should be considered for any protein classification?
For e.g. As far as my knowledge, I know 2 Properties based Sequence and Structure the proteins can be classified.
So, What could be other important properties to classify proteins? A suggestion from your part will be appreciated.
Please attach some of the references for your suggestion.

I think you should look at protein families and PFAM and certainly PDB as a way to annotate proteins. It is not totally clear what your aim is. I think you are using "Classification" in the non computer-science sense, as in grouping proteins into similar or related classes or annotating protein function. Proteins containing the conserved TIM barrel fold, come from a variety of protein families. Grouping the proteins of interest into groups with common families or superfamilies, if you are studying the potential function of a certain protein fold or domain, might be a good idea. Hope I understood your intention correctly. More precise information about your project (which is a bit vague) will certainly yield better answers.
