If you don't know anything about either of these two subjects, you may want to pick a simpler problem as a starting point.

What I want to know is how a question like this gets two upvotes in under 10 minutes? I think people are admiring your bravery.

That is totally fine. All of us do not need to know how to write a genome assembler. Identifying the right tool for the project at hand is a valuable skill in itself and we should recognize/appreciate that.
