A colleague has been using the KOBAS web-server approximately one week ago, but now the web-server has gone MIA again. My colleague has contacted the authors to no avail.

We noticed that there is a KOBAS tool in Galaxy ( usegalaxy.eu) but this service requires to upload two database which need to be downloaded from the web-site that is down.

• KOBAS species database, available for multiple species at http://kobas.cbi.pku.edu.cn/download.php

• KOBAS organism database, available at http://kobas.cbi.pku.edu.cn/download.php

Therefore, my questions, has anyone recently downloaded those data and would be willing to share them with us or otherwise knows how to obtain those? Or do you have any idea what happened to the KOBAS web-server or could you get it to run again?

We need specifically the data for Salmon (Salmo salar, sasa).

Edit: seems like the FTP server is still up: ftp://ftp.cbi.pku.edu.cn/pub/KOBAS_3.0_DOWNLOAD/sqlite3/ But then the question remains what happened to KOBAS?
