I have a list of 1000 proteins from an Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid Mass Spectrometer performing Liquid Chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). In this dataset, there is uniport IDs for 1000 proteins. For each protein, there are some feature columns such as PSM, Peptides, Unique Peptides, etc. Also, for each protein, there are some sub-columns featuring information about the identified peptides of each protein. So, totally there are 30966 rows in this dataset. I need to know how many spectra this dataset has (number of spectra). I am quite confused about what spectra is in a MS dataset and how many it is in this dataset. Is it sum of all peptides of all proteins? Or sum of all PSMs?? Or …
