What is a metabolite?
Hi all, I have a question. I would like to know what is a metabolite? what can they be? Can a gene or protein be a metabolite? I searched and I found they are "Metabolites are the intermediate products of metabolic reactions catalyzed by various enzymes that naturally occur within cells" But I do not understand what are they. Could someone explain it to me.
