Difference between "nucleotide" and "nuccore" entrez databases

Hello, I was wondering what is the difference between the nucleotide and nuccore entrez databases.

It seems that both index the same number of terms, but nuccore appears to contain links to other databases, while nucleotide does not (based on einfo output).
