normalized data for performing enrichment analysis

I am doing an enrichment analysis using the ranking list approach. The list is ranked using arbitrary units of presence of the metabolite (it is not a p-value or other statistic since I am not comparing two cases), so I only have data from 1 situation and I have the arbitrary unit of presence of the metabolite (the values range is from 0 to 3000000). Should I normalize the data, which way would be correct to normalize the data? Thank you!

enrichment analysis normalized data

What question are you trying to answer with this analysis? It's a little confusing about what you are looking for.

I am doing metabolomics and I want to do an enrichment analysis to see which pathways are overrepresented. I don't have 2 different situations or conditions to compare (I don't have p-values from a t-test), I only have data that represents the quantity of each metabolite (in arbitrary units).

I would perhaps center and scale the data, but since you only have one sample there isn't really an intuitive way to perform any sort of normalization.
